Thyme Maternity

Thyme maternity was nice enough to send me this cute top. I love navy, and it's so soft and comfortable. I decided to pair it with some skinny jeans, mini bubble necklace, and sandals. My sandals didn't quite make it into the pictures. Sorry for the line under my shirt, it's my belly band! The only way I can get these jeans to fit.
This shirt is a great mix and match piece. There are so many ways to dress it up or down. It's the length of a tunic shirt, so it would also go great with leggings.
I was a little worried with it having a boat-neck collar it would lay funny, but it fit perfectly. No bra straps hanging out, which is always a good thing! I highly recommend this cute top. It would also be great for after pregnancy. It fits my 20 weeks belly really well, with some room to spare. It really is great for all trimesters, and I think I will be wearing it after as well.
If you are a momma to be you should check out Thyme maternity at your Babies R Us, or online here. They also carry nursing bra's and some skin care items.

Fab Five on Fridays #3

I'm a few weeks behind on my Fab Five, so I'm jumping back on the wagon.
I thought I would share my five favorite sewing tutorials with you.

#1. The Maxi Skirt
This pattern was free but is now for sale. I think it's totally worth the $12 though! I love my skirt I've made with it, and I still get compliments on it over a year later whenever I wear it. The great thing about it is that it works for maternity as well.
You can purchase the pattern here.
Check out Leanne blog Elle Apparel, she is super talented.

#2. Diaper Cover
Dana's blog Made is one of the first sewing blogs I ever read. I love it! She has such beautiful pictures and great idea's. You can print this pattern out and it's so easy to follow. I use it for all of my baby bloomer. You can make so many different variations. I like to monogram the back, or add ruffles.

#3 Party Skirt
I made this skirt two years ago and I loved it! I also made my girls matching ones. I got so many compliments on it, that's when you know it's a good pattern. It is high waisted and flattering. It's easy to make too. I made mine in navy also, but you can mix it up so many different ways.
The tutorial can be found here.

#4 Easy as a Cinch Bag
I know this bag looks so simple, but it really is the perfect gift for a child. I like to add a flap to the top and embroider the child's name on it and fill the bag with art supplies. I've also made one and decorated it with a stop sign and filled it with fabric roads and toy cars. It's the perfect size for your little one to tote around their special toys when you are out and about. It's also a great way to use up your scrap fabric and ribbon, which make for an inexpensive gift. You can find the tutorial here.
Make It and Love It is also one of my favorite sewing blogs. Ashley is super talented, you should check out her tutorial page for some great idea's.

#5 Easy Baby Shower Gifts
Yes this one is from my own blog. I make these items so often. I have so many friends having babies right now, these are my go to gifts. Tutorial found here. You can never have enough cute burp clothes and passy straps!! I'm going to be making some for my own baby when we pick a name, hopefully that's not after she's born : ) The ones in this picture were gifted to my best friend a year ago.

I hope you guys enjoy these tutorials as much as I have. They are all easy to follow and pretty quick projects, which are my fav!! And for fun here's my 20 week belly pic : )

Yes my head is cut off, my husband took the picture like that. But I think it turned out cute.

I'm actually sewing! Maybe...

This morning I've been cutting out fabric for some projects. I'm especially excited about making this nursing shawl. My little sister who is also pregnant with her third daughter requested one. The tutorial is great and I can't wait to see how it turns out! I'm going to make myself one too.
I have a ton of pregnant friends right now so I'm also going to make some passy straps, burp cloths, and attempt some cloth wipes. I am planning on cloth diapering our baby so I figured cloth wipes would be easier than disposables. I guess I will find out. If you have any favorite cloth diapers, please share!
Hopefully I can get my 20 year old Serger to cooperate today so I can actually finish some of these projects. I don't think I've touched my sewing machine in at least 3 months. I'm still dealing with a little bit of morning sickness at 19 weeks.
Here are the tutorials I will be using:

And just for fun here's my 19 week photo. It was also Mother's Day. I'm so grateful these little girls made me a Mother. We had a great day thanks to my hubby who took over cooking and cleaning!

Fab Five on Fridays #2

This week I wanted to share my favorite nursery inspirations. I have 5 months left to get my little girls room ready. I know a lot of time, but I'm excited to get started. Teal and Pink or Coral are my favorite colors right now. I was thinking about painting the walls a very pale teal, almost white color.

Baby Girl Nursery

Nursery Board #1- I love this color combination! I've also seen similar fabric on fabric.com so I know where to order it. I'm really loving teal and pink.  The pop of yellow is nice too.

Baby Girl's Nursery

Nursery Board #2- This is probably my favorite right now. It has all the colors I really love and don't think I will be sick of looking at. I love the gray, but it's all over my house already.

Nursery Board #3- I am in love with this room! I love the colors. You have to check out this blog, she has the best sewing projects for girls. She made almost everything in the room which I love. I think the quilt is my favorite part.

big-girl-bedroom

Nursery Board #4- Okay so this is not a nursery, but I love the colors and print on the fabric. This room is so bright and happy.

Nursery Board #5- This is a very pretty classy little lady room. I like parts of it but not the whole thing. I want to make the Love pillow to put on the rocker, I might do the sequins in silver though.

I'm going in for a 20 week ultrasound in a few weeks so I will wait till then to pick out a paint color. Just in case there is any gender surprises.
I bought a bunch of picture frames from goodwill a couple of months ago and I have a few items I just need to repaint for the nursery. I also want to give my 6 year old rocker a makeover. My sister is giving me her white crib and matching changing table which is so nice!

Which one is your favorite?
