Easiest Hair Ties and Headbands

Okay people, I am going to help you save some money today. I was walking in Target the other day and found three of these elastic hair tie's for over $3! I couldn't believe it! Then I found out anthropology is selling the headbands for $15 each!! Craziness!

What you will need to make these hair ties or headbands is soft roll elastic. I buy mine on etsy. I paid $1.50 for 5 yards, that's right 5 yards! You can make a whole bunch of bands for $1.50!
They are perfect for going to the gym or keeping in your bag. The headbands do not leave a dent in your hair after you work out. I wore one today when I went to the gym. They are great for us girls who don't wash our hair everyday. They are also great for baby because they will not leave a dent in her head. You can color coordinate with your outfit and wear it on your wrist till you need it.

I bought my soft roll elastic at My Sunshine Supplies on etsy. I've ordered from them a couple of times, and they have been great!
For the headbands I measure around my head cut the elastic and hot glue the ends together. For the bracelets I measure them around my wrist or my girls (depending on who it's for) and leave a few inches excess. Then you just tie a knot! Easy Peasy!!
You can also make a headband and glue a flower on it for your little girl, or for you. I'm more of a plain headband girl, but my kids always have flowers on theirs. If you want to see some tutorials on how to decorate little girls headbands go over to Make It and Love It, and my posts here, and here. These would be great party favors for your little girls birthday.

DIY Rose Jewelry

This winter I wore my favorite pair of black rose earrings almost everyday. I love the look, and black matched everything. I was browsing Etsy looking for affordable Mother's Day gifts a few months ago. I found this shop Back2Beads. It had all the supplies I needed to make my favorite rose earrings. I bought 38 resin flowers, 6 antique bronze rings, and 24 ear studs. It ended up being around $15 with shipping. I thought it was a great deal! I made a set of earring and a matching ring for my friend that just had a baby. I made some sets for Mother's Day, and some for myself. I still have some left over, perfect for Birthday presents!
Here is what you need to make your own:
resin flowers
rings
ear studs
super glue (I tried jewelry glue, and after a few weeks my earrings fell off the studs.)
This cream pair of earrings is my favorite right now, they match everything!
All you have to do is put some super glue on your ring or ear stud and place it in the middle of the back of the flower. I put my flowers face down to dry for a few hours.
I used my bobbin holder to hold my rings while the super glue dried.
I love all of them! They would also be great Christmas Presents.
Happy Crafting!

Girly Spring Cuff's

I made these cute spring cuffs for my girls. I am going to put them in their Easter baskets. They would also be great for birthday party favors. They are SUPER easy to make, and SUPER cheap! Here's what you need:

Soft Roll Elastic- I bought mine for $1.50 a yard here.
Felt Shapes- you can make your own or buy a bag of pre-cut ones. (my mom bought this bag for 49 cents. I think it was from the Christmas Tree Store or Wal-Mart)
Hot Glue
Embellishments- optional ( I didn't use any because my three year old sticks everything up her nose, nice huh!)

My girls wrist are 5 inches around. I made my elastic 6 inches long. Then all you have to do is hot glue the ends together.

Then glue on your felt, and your done!
The one I'm modeling is a little bigger of course! When the girls get them in their Easter baskets I will take some pictures of them with them on.
